HELENYA APOSTOLOU

multidisciplinary Artist

about

'I am a multidisciplinary artist based in North Wales, UK, making bold and colourful screen-prints, paintings and digital designs; all centred around bridging the gap between movement and stillness.

I graduated from The University of Leeds in 2021, with a First Class BA in Fine Art, and I continue to create work exploring the use of colour in manufacturing movement. I use the Samoiloff Effect to turn layered illustrations into short and repetitive stop-motion animated cycles, so that when exposed to red, green and blue LED lighting, my work moves and changes. I love to explore deeper subjects within this practice, using the sense of movement as a form of storytelling, allowing meanings to unfurl and fade in and out of clarity as my paintings and prints change.'

Maik Jimenez

Artist

about

I was born and raised in Tijuana, lived a couple of years in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of other universes and weird characters that would live in them solving their differences together in peace.

I Have an extreme passion (almost obsession) for drawing, constantly sketching, and telling not-necessarily-cohesive stories. My work blends random thoughts, doodles, notes, humor, sarcasm and a touch of innocence and silliness. Everything interacts with everything. My goal is for the viewer to discover something new with each look. The work is based on experimentation and adaptation.
